Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be an Ohio or Indiana resident who is 18 years of age or older and reside in the WKEF/WRGT viewing area.

2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., ABC22/FOX45 and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WKEF/WRGT (the “Station”) and Community Blood Center their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

How to Enter

1. (a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Qualified entrants may enter only one time.

(b) To enter, log on to www.abc.daytonsnewssource.com and complete the online registration and in fifty (50) words or less tell us why you give blood. Or you can hand print your name, address, phone number, and birth date on a postcard and mail it to Take a Be a Hero, 45 Broadcast Plaza, Dayton, Ohio 45408. No mechanically reproduced or completed entries will be accepted.

(c) Submissions start on August 9th, 2008, and all entries must be received by Station by 5p.m. on December 1st, 2008. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail or for printing errors or server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.

(d) This is not a contest. Any persons asked to appear on the news are chosen by our news department based on answers they deem to be news worthy, interesting or unique.

(e) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Prize(s)

1. One submission will be selected monthly. Each submission could result in an on air news appearance by the person submitting the most interesting answer about why they give blood. They would “be a hero” for the month.

2. Candidates will be notified by phone. Before appearing on air, applicants must provide their correct name, address and telephone number to Station at the time of notification. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.

3. If the candidates cannot be notified within 2 days or does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, then the next submission will be chosen. If candidates on not able to appear on the morning news on the date needed the news is not obligated to reschedule.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

1. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received.

2. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.

3. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
